FABRIC REINFORCED PROFILES: Fabric reinforced seals can also be provided. This form of seal is still popular in some applications. This fabrication technique, which is only available in molded profiles, should only be used where fabric reinforcement has been proven to be more effective than an all rubber profile.

MOLDED-VS.-EXTRUDED PROFILES

Molded profiles are the preferred choice of manufacturing for the larger profiles typical of hydraulic gate seals. With molded profiles the cross-section uniformity can be controlled much easier. This control can translate into a cross-section of the long strips matching the cross-section of transitioning corners. Please call for tolerance information. Molded profiles are the only choice for cladded or fabric reinforced seals.

Extruded profiles are used in cases where the profile is fairly small and the size variation can be compensated by the equipment design. Please call for size variations of extruded cross-sections.
