HYDRAULIC GATE SEALS: DESIGN GUIDELINES
The rubber seal compound shall be one
of the following: natural rubber/poly-
isoprene or neoprene. The compound shall have no reclaimed polymers and include
reinforcing carbon black, zinc oxide, accelerators, antioxidants, vulcanizing
agents
and plasticizers. The rubber seal profile shall be properly cured into a homogeneous
form and kept free of oils, grease, or other materials which would deteriorate
the
rubber. Physical characterisics of the seals shall meet the following minimum
requirements:
